Challenge
The Anthony Walker Foundation was set in up in memory of 18-year old Anthony who was murdered in Huyton in 2005. Since the conception of the foundation to promote racial harmony and stamp out bullying, Mason Media has worked on a pro-bono basis to raise awareness of the charity.
Approach
We have promoted the Anthony Walker Foundation’s Sport, Music, Education Festival to drive awareness and attendance of local youths. Our work has included forming relationships with celebrity patrons, creating a programme of newsworthy activity and advising Gee Walker on speaker and media opportunities to deliver the message of racial harmony and understanding.
Results
Our work for the Anthony Walker Foundation has secured the attendance of over 5,000 people to the two-day festival event in 2008. We have provided Gee Walker with extensive support ahead of many media interview requests, and successfully built awareness of the Foundation throughout the national and regional media, including BBC News, the Jeremy Vine show on BBC Radio 2, Grazia magazine and Times 2 supplement.
