
Challenge
Blackburn with Darwen Council wanted to support local businesses and drive footfall to its retail centre in the run up to Christmas.
Approach
We created a Winter Wonderland showcasing the town’s best seasonal products at two December fayres and created compelling stories on the area’s unique offering to shoppers.
We even brought Carol Thatcher to the town to front a record breaking collection of women named Carol to sing Christmas carols to drive footfall and greater media interest.
Results
The initiative generated substantial publicity for the area in key regional print and broadcast media - Granada News, BBC Radio Lancashire, The Lancashire Evening Telegraph and Bolton News.
The event attracted Carols from afar afield as New Zealand with even a man called Karol joining the choir.
